Christopher Alexander DeverauxUnfortunately, this morning was not one Hazel was ready for. The first day of class was always the worst day of them all. Why? If she wasn't careful where she plopped her school books down at, she might be set beside some snooty girl more concerned with cuticles than the class, or some guy with major hygiene issues. She always arrived early to scope out the best seat, somewhere she can be close enough to the teacher without catching any attention. So here she was, fifteen minutes early having already set her things on the desk and writing the headline of her notes on the parchment with her quill. Charms Class is normally her favorite class, so let's hope this year would be the same.

Christopher stood outside the classroom, glancing in to see Hazel. He smirked eyeing her. She was attractive. He fancied her, she was his type of girl. She had spirit and she wasn't afraid to be honest, he liked that. "Well isn't this a pleasant surprise?" He asked as he sauntered into the room. He could understand the reason why she was there early, he had the same purpose. In this situation it was best to be tactful, he made the mistake of coming in on time before and he had the unfortunate luck of sitting next to a girl who wouldn't shut up.

Hazel didn't bother looking up from her parchment as she spoke "Please go away" she said, clear and utter annoyance in her voice tone. If there was anyone she wished could disappear, it was Christopher.

Christopher smirked. "Aww we've always been classmates. I was hoping for a warm response this year." He stood in front of her. "Perhaps someday...I won't stop trying." Hazel wasn't friendly, to anyone. She was distant and easily irritable. He didn't understand why.

Hazel looked up "Don't hold your breath..." she smirked "Well on second thought it would be interesting to watch you pass out."

Christopher smirked. "I wasn't planning on holding my breath." He raised his eyebrow. "Oh? Why would I pass out? Sorry, love. I do know how to breathe despite you."

Hazel raised an eyebrow "There's this new concept called 'figure of speech' perhaps you should brush up before class" she said as people started to finally file into the class.

Christopher smirked. "You didn't grasp that I was extending on your figure of speech?" He glanced up as the students walked in then around the room and sat where he was confident.

Hazel simply rolled her eyes and went back to her parchment, ignoring the place as the seats filled up around her and she was surrounded by perhaps not her choice in people. For one thing, Ryan wasn't there.

Christopher smirked as he looked over, noticing the irritation on her expression. He was hoping that she secretly liked him. His attention was focused on her rather than the students who were filling the seats.

As class started, Hazel tried her very best to concentrate but she could feel him staring at her. Christopher, why did he have to do that? What purpose came with it? She looked up to realize Snape had asked her a question, and despite having hardly heard him she answered quick on the dot with the correct answer. Snape scared everyone else, but not her. To be honest, she didn't care if a teacher liked her or not. It just meant she had to work harder to pick up the slack.

Christopher raised an eyebrow when she seemed to be distracted. Professor Snape was annoying, most people feared him. She was one of the few exceptions.

Drawing in a breath Hazel tried to imagine what the class would be like if she could take it alone. As in, no classmates, no teacher. Just her and her books studying. That would be Heaven.

Christopher listened to the teacher with a sigh, this was going to be a long class. He wanted to talk with Hazel instead.

It seemed to take forever, but soon the class was dismissed and she started to gather her things.
