Josie had made her way into Diagon Alley for the first time since last year. She had a few kids behind her, along with Hagrid to make sure that everyone was safe. The school had provided the students some money to get their books and have a bit of a fun time, and that's what Josie was doing. She had some money from her parents that she had converted to wizarding coins, and she was going to use some of that to buy herself some books for the upcoming school year so she wouldn't be so bored all of the time. While the rest of the students had gone around her, she had went into Obsurus and began looking around. They didn't have near the selection that the Barnes and Noble had in London, but it was a start.

It wasn't the first time that Zaine was getting everything he needed so close to the beginning of the school year. He had rushed from place to place gathering everything he would need for his seventh and final year. Fortunately, seventh years don't have nearly as much to get since everything was wrapping up, and he'd have his certificate to use magic outside of Hogwarts by the end of the school year. It was a good feeling. After he'd gathered up what he needed he decided it was time to relax before going back home with the help of a chimney and a bit of Floo Powder. He took to the new bookstore and breathed in the old leather. "Ah" he sighed, he might not be a Ravenclaw, but he could appreciate a good book when it was in his hands.

Josie was reading the back cover of a Young Adult novel, laughing quietly to herself about how they depicted what vampires and werewolves were like. She didn't know either personally, but she'd done quite a lot of reading about the two species during the summer. That was, when she wasn't laying down by Black Lake getting a bit of a tan for the new school year. She had conveniently looked up to watch the 7th year walk in. She didn't know him at all, but she had heard about him from her fellow Hufflepuff friend, Ryan.

"Hello," he said to the girl sitting there as he walked by, and he winked; a flirtatious gesture. He started to skim through the books on the shelves, taking one out that suited his mood and started to flip through the pages. He frowned and looked at his author "Ugh, Nicholas Sparks. I swear that bloke wouldn't know a happy ending if it bit him in the a**" He put the book back and ticked his tongue in disapproval.

Josie smiled softly at the older boy. She put the book back before listening to him make the comment about Nicholas Sparks. "Like they're interesting books, if you enjoy crying" she said with a smile, picking up Game of Thrones. "Now these, while giant, are really interesting" she smiled at him again before starting to look for other books she might want. She turned away from him and started to walk to a different part of the store before looking over her shoulder. "I'm Josie by the way" she called.

Raising an eyebrow, he couldn't help but smile when she held up the massive book. "Ah yes, a million pages of in-depth porn" he smiled "Riveting" he shook his head with a chuckle and nodded "Zaine. Sixth year?" he asked her curiously, she didn't seem too young. He hoped not anyway.

She laughed, picking up a few more books that she had heard raving reviews from before smiling back at him. "The TV show is porn for nerd. The books are more war based and less sex" she said with a smile. "5th year actually..but I'm 16. Long story" she said with a smile.

Zaine chuckled and nodded "So you skipped a year I'm assuming?" He walked towards her and picked up the Game of Thrones book and skimmed the back page, reading what happens in the end. The ultimate crime for any Ravenclaw.

Josie blushed, hoping that she wouldn't have to explain it but she seemed to. "Opposite actually. I transferred here last year after my parents passed away. I used to go to illivimory. Apparently I was a year behind Hogwarts standards though" she laughed nervously.

Zaine nodded slowly, he didn't mind for that reason, she was simply a year behind compared to other Hogwarts students which couldn't always be a bad thing. "I'm sorry for your loss," he said, his tone warm and compassionate, "I can't imagine what that must be like..." he trailed.

She smiled warmly back. It had been nearly two years and while it still hurt, it wasn't nearly as painful to talk about as it used to. "Thank you...honestly being here helped. Your house becomes your family" she said, picking up a couple more books, The new Cassandra Claire and Cinder by Marissa Meyer. "What's it like knowing that you graduate this year" she said with a smile as she continued to browse.

"If I'm being honest?" He bit his lip as he thought, his tongue feeling they were slightly chapped "It's kind of terrifying but thrilling at the same time" he smiled "I'm still trying to decide what I want to do as a career. Well, I guess I shouldn't say that. I want to help people, maybe a doctor, but I'm not sure yet."

She grinned. "Someone else wanting a Muggle job. Glad I'm not alone" she said with a smile. "I want to be a lawyer for wizards"

Zaine smiled "Really?" He asked with a quizzical expression. He could see her being a lawyer, in fact, he could see her being one of the best lawyers money could buy. "I think you'd be fantastic as a lawyer, but let's see if you can find a loophole why you shouldn't go out for drinks with me."

Josie nearly dropped the books out of her hands. "I, um.." she trailed off. She hadn't ever been on a date, she always was too focused on school and reading. "Sure?" It came out as a question, but she didn't really seem to mind.
