Ryan Anthony PerryThe first day had finally drawn to an end and Isobel decided to do a bit of light reading in the courtyard before the third meal of the day. Of course, she'd been given homework in Potions by Snape on the first day, which was what she was working on currently. At least the weather is fair she thought to herself as she gazed up at the sun shining through the tree leaves above. It was a beautiful fall day, her favorite time to be outside. It wasn't so hot that your robes stuck to your back, nor was it so cold your toes went numb.

Ryan had been walking between classes, as he had one extra one that most people didn't, and it was an astronomy class. He was almost to the next part of the building when he had spotted Isobel sitting on a bench, her nose in a book. At closer glance he noticed that she was actually doing homework for Snape's class. He had heard from some of his fellow house members that Snape had given everyone homework on the first day back to classes, causing him to roll his eyes. He smiled and sat down next to her, knowing his class didn't start for another 15 minutes.
"Hows that homework coming?" he asked with his usual goofy grin.

Isobel looked up when she heard Ryan speak and she smiled, it was unfortunate it wasn't Christopher, but Ryan was perfect company all the same. "Well, it wouldn't be so bad if I had actually been able to take notes in his class today. You think he wouldn't talk to fast on the first day back."

Ryan chuckled. "You know how Snape is, if he doesn't like you, he doesn't help" he pulled out his old notebooks from the year prior, always making sure to keep them. "You can borrow mine and see if it'll help? I'm sure it won't be exact but it might be close"

Isobel smiled softly "I would be greatful to that" she said in a gentle voice "How have you been then? Your family I mean."

Ryan smiled and handed the oversized notebook to her before sitting down. "Good, as annoying as ever but not bad" he smiled. "How about yours?"

Isobel smiled softly and huffed a soft laugh "Good, my dad of course had a horrible time letting me come back to school. I guarantee I'll have an Owl by the time the day is over from him" she smiled shaking her head. She felt sorry for her father, since losing her mother he'd been so lonely unless Isobel was with him. What did he do with his time while she was away at school?

Ryan smiled and nodded. While he hadn't personally dealt with what Isobel had, but he always wanted her to know he was here. "That's when you send letters back and forth every day. Life gets hard being away from family but we all belong here" he said with a warm smile.

Isobel bit her lip and nodded "Yes, I suppose so, but when I leave here he will again be by himself. If only he'd see the possibility of moving on. It's been years, Ryan. He still hasn't even spoken of seeing someone else. I just want him to be happy."
